THREE STATEWIDE PAGEANT WINNERS TO PARTICIPATE IN
2010 COMERICA BANK NEW YEAR’S PARADE Miss Texas, Miss Mississippi and Miss Oklahoma USA to Join the Festivities in Dallas ![]() Kristen Blair is a senior at the University of North Texas, where she studies vocal performance and was a soloist at the UNT School of Music 2008 Czech Republic Tour. She is a member of the National Scholars Honor Society and Tau Sigma Academic Honors Society. Blair’s platform issue is “Celebrating YOUth: Discovering Passions and Living Out Dreams.” She hopes to teach children’s music and theater. She is from Southlake, Texas. Anna Tadlock, of Brandon, Mississippi, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a degree in Communications. Tadlock’s personal platform is to promote music education for children. As a Miss America contestant, she will promote the Children’s Miracle Network, the national platform supported by the Miss America Organization. Morgan Woolard is a junior majoring in Sports Media at Oklahoma State University. Woolard’s platform is “Action for Healthy Kids.” She hails from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. ![]() The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 2:30 p.m., will “Celebrate Entertainment!” The parade will be televised live on KDFW-TV (FOX 4) in Dallas and streamed live on www.myfoxdfw.com. More than 100,000 people attended the 2009 parade, while thousands more watched on television and by live Internet streaming. The 1.5-mile parade route begins in the Dallas Arts District on Ross Ave. in front of the Dallas Museum of Art and concludes in Victory Park at Houston St. and All-Star Way. An Ole Miss Pep Rally featuring the Ole Miss Marching Band and cheerleaders is scheduled immediately following the parade at the AT&T Plaza, which is located just south of the American Airlines Center. The family parade will feature some 80 entries including high school bands from across the country, 25 floats, helium balloons, equestrians, Cotton Bowl dignitaries, the world-famous Kilgore College Rangerettes, and the Cotton Bowl university bands, mascots, and cheerleaders. The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade is presented by the J. Curtis Sanford Parade Committee and benefits the Field and Mary Scovell Scholarship Foundation.
